110 Oxford

Johannesburg, South Africa
New commercial development 110 Oxford Building in Rosebank is a feature building in the prevailing popular development of the New Oxglen Business Precinct – easy access within walking distance to the Gautrain Station, and made up of 4800sqm across 4 floors and a large super basement that interconnects adjacent buildings, makes 110 Oxford a very attractive location for international companies to set up their headquarters.

Working with Barrow Construction to execute this striking project was a smooth and effortless process. Accoya is easy to work with and the unmatched stability offers confidence that expansion and contraction movement won’t affect the appearance in the future.

The spectacular design of a cantilever building atop a soft green landscaped podium is ever eye-catching, standing out amongst the other surrounding buildings.

Boasting elegant architectural features, each floors’ balconies were cladded, wall and ceiling in On The Deck’s Accoya, chosen for its stability and resilience in the extreme variances of the Johannesburg weather, for maximum longevity and aesthetically due to the stark natural blonde to enhance the contrast against the main black structures.
These soft, natural outdoor balcony spaces offer employees and visitors the opportunity to escape the interior and enjoy fresh air and views of beautifully lush, landscaped terraces below. While the cladded Entrance Wall provides the backdrop for clean, sharp, modern signage during the day and a striking distinction lit up at night.

Complementing the A-grade Offices are the sophisticated outdoor spaces, terraces with beautiful pergolas make the outdoors as inviting as the stunningly designed and curated interiors. On The Deck supplied the Thermal Pine beans that balanced the hard steel pergola structures with a warm natural timber.

This product selection was mimicked internally where Thermal Pin beams were crafted into a staggered asymmetric suspended fin ceiling – namely a visual display to capture your eye, but also to assist in acoustics, dampening echoing and adding depth to a triple volume reception.

We thoroughly enjoyed this project and witnessing the final creation come to life, encompassing On The Deck’s products to embody the concept and visualisation that was created originally.
